Bella s Story Bella came to SAAP in January 2016 from a shelter where she was surrendered after her owner had passed away. She went to Petwow where she had some teeth extracted but was declared healthy and about 8yrs old. Bella may have had a few teeth removed but still eats dry food like a champ and sometimes may eat a little too quickly as she enjoys meal times. Currently she is eating 4-Health Grain Free Dry and Canned food. Bella may be a senior girl but she still has plenty of play in her and loves to run around the backyard keeping it safe from birds and the occassional squirrel. She looks forward to our long walks every morning and may pull some when spotting those pesky squirrels or a passing dog but listens well and is easily corrected. Bella goes willingly into her crate during the day if needed and may whine a little but is happy with a peanut butter filled Kong bone to chew on her HedgeHog and some classical music softly playing the background. At night she goes into her crate by herself and sleeps without a peep all night. Bella is friendly with other dogs and gets along with our 6yr old German Sheperd girl but is just as happy being the only dog also. She has been known to play a little rough with smaller dogs and cats so its best if they weren t around. Bella does not get on furniture unless invited and will sit next to you and give a little whine until you tell her Up Up . then she likes nothing better than to lay next to you with her head in your lap while you watch TV. She is a people person and will follow you around the house from room to room wanting to see what mischief you are up to. Bella likes to sit on the couch or spare bed after being invited up and look out the window to see what is going on around the neighborhood and if she spots something she feels we need protecting from she will give a little wuff wuff but she is basically a quiet reserved girl and doesn t bark hardly at all. Bella will greet you with happy kisses fiercely wagging tail and lots of love whether you ve been gone only 1 2hr or 4hrs. She loves her people and likes nothing better than to show you her tricks like sit down paw and wait or to bring you her HedgeHog and have you play with her.
