Goldie - Female Domestic Shorthair

Goldie is a large spayed female cat probably born 2008. She is front declawed. She has a gorgeous orange gold coat very bright almost like a coin. Goldie is a sweet sensitive cat. She enjoys being petted but like many declawed cats she s lacking a little confidence and she has turned to nip if someone touches a tender spot on her back. We are looking into why she might be sensitive (injury or maybe she just gets stiff muscles from carrying around her extra bulk ) Update May 2016 - We found it difficult to manage Goldie s weight loss program in the shelter so she has moved to a foster home for a little while to see if we can better help her regain her health when she s not sharing food with Brianne. As of July 10 she has dropped a whole pound over her two months in foster care (a steady 2 ounces per week) right on target - she s doing great She is now out and about in the foster home can jump up on windowsills and onto the back of a recliner (from the floor) climbs stairs a few at a time and she has the family dog under her thumb (she strenuously objects to having her bottom sniffed so she s biffed a the dog a few times). She also has a baby kitten mini-me (another foster) who follows her around like a duckling. She ll lick him and cuddle him but only when she thinks no one is looking. The minute she sees a person she stands up and walks away. We re not sure what THAT is about. ... More Info
