Honeysuckle is a 7 year old beagle girl who is only as old as she feels. She may be approaching senior status in age but she has lots of youth left in her. She came to SAAP from a local shelter where they found out she had tested positive for heartworms. After a difficult and lengthy medical treatment she is officially heartworm free and ready for her forever home. She loves to play with toys or run around with other dogs. She also does well with adults and children and ignores cats. We are continuing to work with her on leash walking and housebreaking. If she s taken out every 4-6 hours when not crated she won t have accidents. She just doesn t tell you when she needs to use the bathroom. Honeysuckle is quiet in her crate when going to sleep but sometimes sings you a short song goodbye. She does need supervision when outside of the crate especially around power cords. She has chewed a few of them. In her foster home this problem is fixed by having her stay in the crate when no one can supervise her properly. Her ideal forever home would include at least one other playful dogs or some active family members to keep her entertained and a well stocked bin of toys for her to play with. SAAP dogs and puppies are vet checked UTD on vaccines spayed neutered micro chipped and given flea and heartworm preventatives as age appropriate.
