UPDATE Buster is all grown up and married to a lovely one-eyed homing pigeon named Carlie. They are a cute couple and would do well either in an aviary or as indoor pets. They aren t particularly tame at the moment but Buster has a lot of experience being with people and Carlie s easy going. With time & patience they could become lovely pets.Hello Our names are Elliot & Buster and we are extremely lucky king pigeons. Most king pigeons are butchered and eaten at the age of 8 weeks (despite the fact that we are very sweet smart and sensitive). Somehow we beat the butcher and were set free in a housing development in Redwood City where we would have been quickly killed (by hawks ravens cats raccoons etc.) if it hadn t been for some very nice people who noticed our plight and called the animal shelter. One was very sick and weak (Elliot) and the other Buster was very strong and a really good friend. Despite the best efforts of the shelter staff Elliot continued to decline and on the verge of death was going to be euthanized on 8 8 when shelter staff reached out to the always over full MickaCoo for help. MickaCoo did take these two in (keeping them together since they were such good buddies) and with a lot of care and good luck Elliot s condition reversed and she ( ) began to gain weight and strength. It has been a joy to see these two beat the odds and thrive. As one friend of MickaCoo put it Their lives are no smaller than ours.
