WHEEEEEEEE Hershey is here Looking for a wonderful energetic young dog ready to learn everything Looking for a marathon run partner He loves people especially equally energetic people. With enough exercise and mental stimulation we think Hershey will calm down some in his new home once he gets the regular schedule and finishes his adolescence.Smaller children might find themselves easily overwhelmed and possibly knocked down by this well meaning but goofy youngster. He has no idea how strong he is. Sturdier people over thirteen are more likely to withstand his love.The same is pretty much true of Hershey with other dogs he can be rough and overwhelming with dogs who are not up to his level of energy or strength. Smaller dogs and other animals should be kept safe from his attentions until he learns to be calmer. When playing with other dogs his people need to know that he needs breaks before he becomes overly excited. He can be difficult to catch without a leash on. Keep his leash on while he learns to come when called instead of playing keep away . By setting up some management rules when he is around other dogs (no dog parks) he will continue to be a playful boy.All in all Hershey is a hoot. He is full of joy wants to please and is treat motivated to help with training. Training will be the first key to success with Hershey. No weekend warriors for this boy. Daily workouts are needed.
