Disney - Female Macaw

Disney was named after the famous So. CA park when her owner worked there for many years prior to his return to CO. He moved to a remote mountain location where they lived for several years with the caregiver s dogs. Then he decided that Disney needed a friend of her own and decided that Merlin was the future macaw in their lives. Merlin and Disney soon became inseparable and along with their caregiver lived on a beautiful mountain property an a remote canyon outside of Boulder. Then in 2010 fire struck and Merlin and Disney along with their caregiver were evacuated. Their home was destroyed but birds dogs and humans were safe. Merlin and Disney remained in TGF s care for a couple of years before their caregiver found a new home again in the mountains. Life was good until 2012 when another devastating fire struck the mountain they called home. This time not everyone was so lucky. Merlin and Disney were evacuated to safety but their caregiver suffered respiratory burns and severe health impacts. Merlin and Disney remained safely in TGF s care. Due to their owner s declining health both birds were relinquished to TGF. Now that they have been living together for several years separating them from each other would be cruel. Both birds are good with people and dogs. They re used to spending time outdoors in an outside flight and don t need a lot of petting and touching from their humans. Hanging out with friends and family is their favorite thing to do. Outgoing and social this pair is in need of a home to call their own permanently.
