Christabelle - Female Domestic Shorthair

Christabelle is a super sweet girl about 4-5 years old. She came to me as a foster kitty with a litter of babies back in August 2010 she was a great Momma to her babies. Since then Christabelle developed what is called Rhinotracheitis which was caused by a herpes virus. Rhino is contagious only to cats. What it does is it leaves Christabelle with a chronic ongoing congestion of her upper airway ( trachea and nasal passages) so most all the time she will sound congested. She will cough off and on from time to time on occassion she will sometimes but not very much cough up mucous from her nose. Some Rhino cats do that a lot Christabelle does not. Although at times she will sound terrible. It s a chronic condition. It does not go away. Other than that she is fine except that due to having to have been kept in her playpen as I have my own cats in the home and she is contagious she is overweight as she doesn t get the exercise she needs.Chrissy s medical needs are - she should have a tracheal nasal wash procedure done about every 4 months (3 times a year) have L- Lysine added to her diet daily and if and when she sounds severly congested she can be placed on an antibiotic from the vet.Like what you see Please go to -.----X.- to access the Stray Cat Blues page where you can see information on our adoption process and access a link to our online adoption application.
