Gorgeous French Pony Carriage with shafts pairs pole 4 in hand pole single tree and original oil lamps. Seats four people back to back. Lots of storage space under the rear seat for picnic basket etc. Correct nomenclature is Dog Cart Phaeton or Four Wheeled Dog Cart . Discovered in the basement of the American Embassy in France. Has the owners name plate from the American Embassy in France. Hub caps read DIMPRE. Research done by the Carriage Museum of America. Documented by the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training s foreign Affairs Oral History Project. In excellent condition for it s age. Old restoration needs some touch-up and the wheels need to be tightened before driven with a pony. Shafts will fit an eleven to 12 hand single pony new shafts can be made to fit larger pony. The Poles will fit a pair or four in hand of Miniature s to thirteen hand ponies. Gorgeous Piece of History....
