Environmental Legal Secretary

Practice Group Coordinator The candidate will support attorneys in the Environment Energy and Resources (EER) practice group in various aspects of their practices including legal and factual research writing editing and cite checking in litigation and non-litigation matters. Duties will include to collecting and organizing court opinions statutes regulations guidance and policy papers relating to issues raised in administrative proceedings and litigation proof-reading and assisting in the preparation of legal memoranda and exhibits for administrative proceedings and litigation and the drafting of correspondence communications client alerts and other documents as requested. Will coordinate and participate in electronic document review suggest process improvements work with project teams as assigned to implement changes prepare and edit client updates and alerts assist with the preparation and editing of environmental handbooks attend or view Congressional hearings and prepare briefings track current and emerging trends in environmental energy natural resources and Indian law and policy and share findings with EER attorneys through either oral reports or written summaries. Should have a Bachelor s degree or equivalent and 5 years of Environmental Law legal support experience such as legal secretary legal assistant paralegal or equivalent. Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing and must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Must be proficient in legal research databases including Westlaw Lexis and HeinOnline as well as Federal government online databases. Should have proficiency in Concordance Relativity (litigation document storage databases) and Adobe. Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments from different attorneys. Familiarity with administrative environmental energy and Indian (Native American) law and policy is preferred.
