If there were such a thing as an amphibious dog Derek would be one. This energetic playful boy loves water He s a good hiking buddy (who still wants to pull on the leash some) especially if it involves winding up in a lake or creek or even a swimming pool. He even loves taking baths. Derek is a loyal loving and gentle boy who is very affectionate and wants bedtime and couch-time snuggling with his people. He is partial only to humans and doesn t relate well to other dogs or cats. He s also nervous and fearful around young children so he does best with adults and teenagers. He s an intelligent guy who knows the sit stay down and go outside commands and will sit by his bowl until he hears the command to eat. He doesn t care for being crated especially if his people aren t home but does well left in the house as long as he has ample time outdoors....
