Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all financial reporting and financial compliance functions of the Company. The position is depended upon to develop a complete financial picture so the Director of Finance and management may make additional decisions for the health of the company. The position performs month end quarter end and year end reconciliations and including any general ledger variances and journal entry corrections. The position will develop document and monitor compliance with sufficient internal financial and operation controls to insure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and provides excellent audit documentation. The position will manage the 3rd parties contracted for tax compliance including sales & use tax income tax and other licenses required by regulatory authorities. The position will insure financial compliance is completed in the most efficient and economical manner so that the company is able to attain its growth potential leveraging resource to a high standard. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Primarily responsible preparation and distribution of financial statement & MD& A in compliance with GAAP. a. Company requires a 6 day monthly close cycle complete with reconciliations of critical accounts. b. Identifies general ledger variances and inputs appropriate journal entry correction as needed. c. Creates reports as necessary on financial picture of HOL. d. Manages annual audits. Develops maintains and consistently improves system of internal controls and processes to insure financial and operational integrity. Manages outsourced tax compliance functions of Company Directly responsible for payroll functions utilizing PEO. Assists the Director of Finance in maintaining a rolling 13 week cash forecast and other financial forecasts. Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans budgets and forecasts. Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements investing excess funds. Assists HR manager in annual and periodic compliance reporting. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities reading professional publications maintaining personal networks participating in professional organizations. 9. Coordinates with Production and Purchasing on inventory level changes especially during yearly Inventory Count. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and or Abilities Required Bachelor s degree in Accounting CPA preferred with at least five years of experience or any Equivalent combination of experience and training. Public accounting experience preferred. Must be knowledgeable and able to implement requirements of generally Accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Must be knowledgeable or able to quickly learn Navision ERP application system and reporting package. Ability to train and coach staff in using financial tools available. Must be proficient in use of Microsoft office applications. Effective critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to details and an eye for creating unique solutions and internal efficiencies. Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent writing and oral communications skills required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
