People see a scraggly cat like me on the street and they move away you know Time and time again I saw it - even mothers pulling their kids close and saying Stay away from that cat - he s a dirty animal No ma am I m not a dirty animal. I m just a great cat who has fallen on hard times that s all. I used to look better than this - with thick shiny fur and no skinny ribs. Back when I had a person to care for me. But something happened and they stopped caring. And I ended up alone.And it was hard. The worst part wasn t the hunger (although that was bad having to scrounge in rotting garbage just to try to get a few mouthfuls and hoping it wouldn t make me sick). It wasn t even the thirst (although that got so bad sometimes I would have to lick at drying mud puddles just hoping for a little bit of moisture - often more mud and dirt than anything).No the worst part by far was being alone. ...
