DO YOU HAVE ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES COME JOIN THE MICROBIOME STUDY Airway and Gut Microbiome in Allergy and Asthma Relationships to Immune and Clinical Phenotype. Effects of Inhaled Corticosteroid Treatment. A Proof of Concept Study We are looking for individuals with asthma non smokers between 18 to 60 years of age to participate in a Clinical Research Study to help scientists and clinicians better understand asthma The purpose of this study is to find if the microbes found in the lungs are different in healthy people without asthma compared to people with allergic asthma. You must have your asthma under controlled without any daily asthma controller medication for the last 3 months. This study will require 7 clinic visits to Northwestern University. If you qualify you will undergo study related tests such as breathing tests blood tests EKG sputum induction bronchoscopy. In addition we will provide you with study related medication or placebo (inactive substance) at no cost to you. Study visits may take from 1 to 4 hours to complete. Monetary Compensation is provided for those who qualify and participate in the study.
