Maggie was surrendered to the shelter by her owner because he was allergic to her. He tried to make it work but was finally advised by his doctor that the dog had to go. She is a darling border collie mix who is about 1.5 year old. Maggie is spayed up to date on vaccines and weighs 50 lbs. She is good with other animals and loves kids. She is a great dog who is already housebroken and almost out of the puppy stage--a word of caution though she will tear up and eat toys and tennis balls so her toys must be indestructible (bones Kongs etc) UPDATE 03 2016 Maggie was adopted but returned 4 months later. She went to a home with three small children and her border collie instincts kicked in. She tried to herd the young children by pushing and nipping (all very instinctual not aggression) Because of that and her high energy (she is barely out of the puppy stage) it was not the right fit for either side. Maggie would be ideal for an active home with older children. She would be a great dog to work with as she has intelligence and drive. Maggie also needs some training and direction. She has not had much opportunity for socialization and will be great once she gets some practice she has a friendly nature but not enough experience. Puppies under 4 months are 140.00 The adoption fee includes the animal s surgery microchip vaccinations flea preventative deworming medication sample bag of food treat samples and a free first exam with participating veterinarians. Shelter policy is that all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to leaving the shelter.
