Handsome & Unusual Black DMH Black Smoke Maine Coon & Mix Young MaleSpike is a very handsome and unusual 1 year old DMH Black Smoke Maine Coon neutered male. He is unusual due to the Black Smoke Maine Coon characteristics that show in his thick grey under coat hairs that cause him to have very long axillary (arm pit) and arm hairs and some belly and underside hairs that are smoke colored. He can be very sweet and craves attention and can be vocal when he wants attention. However he needs an experienced cat person to adopt him because he can also be a bit defensive and gets over stimulated easily. He can get a bit grouchy sometimes without much warning. We think a large part of his nervous energy is because he is surrounded by other cats and he hates other cats and he also hates being enclosed in him room. He needs to be the only cat in a home where he can get the attention he craves and needs. We don t know about dogs. Due to his ability to get grouchy he should not be with children. He really requires someone who is experienced with and understands cats well. He ll need someone to play with him appropriately (without using hands only wand toys things on strings etc. as we believe part of his behavior might be related to inappropriate play with his previous owner) to help him release some of his pent-up energy.
