Tessa is a former semi-feral kitty who had a rough beginning. She was found on the streets with her kittens fending for herself for the first 5 years of her life. When she was found her trapper noticed she had a severe infection in her mouth that required immediate attention. Tessa was taken to the vet who discovered she had one of the most severe mouth infections he had ever seen. The only solution to heal her was to remove all of her teeth except for 2. After her surgery Tessa went to an experienced socialization foster home. Afraid of people and in pain Tessa hissed and was afraid of humans for the first month of her stay. She then developed a skin infection as she licked her fur and the infection of her mouth wasn t going away. Tessa was then taken to the vet and had her last 2 teeth removed and over the course of a month her skin infection all cleared up and she started to become a noticeably relieved and happy kitty.Free from pain and with lots of TLC Tessa started coming around. She played for the first time. She purred for the first time. She let her foster mom pet her for the first time. Before we knew it Tessa was jumping around chasing the laser playing with mice interacting with other indoor kitties and coming out of hiding to accept snuggles and pets from her foster mom. Even to the point of sitting up on the couch on occasion Nowadays Tessa loves chasing the laser chasing strings that her human dangles receiving snuggles in her own way (not all day long but yes she likes petting and purrs) rolling around on her back on her favourite bed and she is very playful overall. Several times a day her foster mom will catch her attacking a toy mouse in the hallway. She doesn t let having no teeth stop her from anything She can eat dry and food and her new home must give her 1 pill 2x a week (easily dropped into a bowl of wet food). She can be afraid and worrisome around female cats or cats with big personalities. Tessa would do best with a gentler docile male cat (where she feels comfortable to be her big personality self). She should go to a home without dogs or small children as sudden movements scare her. She takes a while to get used to people and must be introduced to a new home gradually in steps. It d be ideal for her potential future adopter to visit the foster home several times to bond before bringing her home. Tessa s new home should be pretty quiet without any easy exits back to the outdoors such as doors open to the street. Tessa is such a treat. She is spunky playful and has a big personality. This is one happy-tail story of a semi-feral cat being rescued off the street saved and loved to become a happy indoor kitty. Tessa is living the good life now and will make anyone a happy and lucky human.... More Info
