Smart and loving he is completely housebroken and crate trained and he is at his best when surrounded by his human companions. The Last Resort Rescue took this little guy in after he was found abandoned in a Maryland park as a young pup in physical agony due a horrible case of mange brought on by neglect. Within a few months in his loving foster home receiving the medical attention he needed and deserved Winston flourished into the healthy and handsome blonde blue-eyed fluff-ball he is today. Now fully grown and weighing in at only 40 lbs Winston is the perfect pint-sized snuggle buddy for that special strong-willed person who will recognize his need for consistency and guidance and in turn appreciate his unfailing sense of loyalty and his protective nature. He will need a fenced-in yard to keep him contained and since he craves human companionship so much he would do best with a family that has someone at home most of the time. In his quiet time this adorable little gent is a comfort seeker. He loves to sleep on couches and beds and will actively seek out blankets that he can wrap himself in. Unfortunately Winston does not do well with cats. Furthermore although he is currently living with other dogs he is strong-willed. Therefore we feel he would be happiest as an only dog or in a home with a submissive female dog. Being a total whiz he does know his basic commands. However Winston would likely benefit from some obedience training classes as a way to bond with his family and learn his place in the pack . He is incredibly smart and highly food-driven so reward-based obedience training is always a blast for him and his humans Winston is still in his adolescent years and like most dogs his age he needs an outlet for his energy. He requires daily exercise and loves to play with toys of all kinds. Since he is a young and enthusiastic pup we do not recommend him for a home with young children.
