Sammie s Friends is a 501 (3) non-profit corporation. We provide medical care for the animals at the Nevada County Shelter making them adoptable and we support other disadvantaged animals in Nevada County that would otherwise be euthanized to end their suffering. Sammie s Friends also operates the Nevada County Animal Shelter. WE ARE A NO KILL SHELTER Munchie is this sweet senior cat who would love to have a home. He was brought to the shelter when his owner lost his home. Basically Munchie had been a outdoor cat with not much interaction with people. So we released him into our feral colony. Well one day this past winter we found him very cold and unresponsive. So we rushed him to the vet. He was anemic and not in good shape at all. Well the wonderful vet and staff got him back on the road to good health and after all of that fussing with him he has turned out to be a pretty sweet old guy. He is free roaming in one of our cat rooms and gets along just swell with his friends.
