Steven and his four siblings came from a legal confiscation. Still nursing Mom was brought from a very high kill shelter into rescue. The moment I saw him I panicked as his right eye was such a mess I thought it was actually ruptured. Luckily my exotics veterinarian Parkway Small Animal and Exotics hospital is close by with long hours and I raced him there calling on the way. When I got there he was taken immediately and the 1 of the vets Dr. Golombek came running. They cleaned him up and found an eyeball still there but the inflammation was so bad it was hard to examine. We came back with antibiotic eyedrops and oral meds. He weighed only 151grs (about 5 ozs) so it was like trying to medicate a hamster. Luckily my husband was able to get he needles off a couple of insulin syringes with marking small enough to get an accurate dose....
