This mare was rescued on a very cold frigid winter day in February 2011. She was so emaciated that after her rescue she went down in her stall and days later went down again. She only weighed 468 lbs. and the pressure wound on her hip had burst open. Once at the PER facility volunteers worked to provide proper food medicine and love. She has regained her strength health and renewed confidence in humans to become this beautiful healthy horse. Finding a suitable loving forever home for Amirah (which means Little Princess) is the next step in her long journey and a happy ending. Amirah is 14.1 hands and 12 years old.
