Beckman and Beeker came from a home that had too many rats and that owner is now trying to get it under control. These two are bonded and must be adopted together. Of the two Beckman is a bit shyer and may squirm a bit when held. But they are both becoming more outgoing every day and seeking out human attention. Their new family must socialize them every day to keep them on this path. But since they are enjoying people more it will be easy to do We do strongly suggest that they go to an adults only home or a family with older children. You don t need to be an experienced rat family but just be patient and calm with them. These boys will provide their new family with many hours of antics to watch. If their new family has children make sure they know how to hold and care for them and to supervise any interaction with them. Keep in mind that their spines and backs are delicate. If not held properly they can be easily injured.They should have time outside of their cage daily for socializing. Rats love to be up on shoulders and to roam. Just make sure they can t get into any tight hiding places. Rats don t normally jump off of high places (like Hamsters do) but that doesn t mean that you don t need to watch them Their diet should be a high quality rat food and just for fun baked sweet potato cooked corn cob firm tofu with Olive Oil drizzled over it very small pieces of tortilla edamame fresh broccoli and other greens like cooked brussel sprouts.
