Fern is a beautiful three year old Black and Tan Coonhound mix that s had a rough start. In spite of it all she is a loving soul and has a comical side to her as well. As an outdoor dog she was constantly exposed to the elements and wasn t familiar with human love and affection. Even worse she was pregnant and gave birth to seven puppies during icy weather. Her owners still would not allow her inside and slowly her pups died from exposure. Finally she was surrendered to a shelter.Fern s life is not all sad however. She and her two siblings Wilbur and Charlotte were rescued and the trio are so happy with their new lives. Little by little Fern has learned that being an indoor dog is the good life A warm place to sleep plenty of good food and extended naps in the sun qualify as the good life Fern is enjoying running in the yard with the two resident dogs in her foster home. Fern is comfortable with her human and dog friends has nice house manners and is crate trained. She will be the dog who spends the remainder of her life giving back to those who love her. No doubt she will be someone s best forever friend Fern s adoption fee is 225 which includes her spay microchip and vaccines. All monies go toward rescuing more animals from high-kill shelters.
