Maddy is a terrific looking dog probably a mix of terrier and chihuahua but her prettily masked face brings to mind a Siberian Husky She is young enough for new start and old enough to be mature.Because of Maddy s intolerance to intrusive handling only more mature children over ten should be her good buddies. It is important that adults supervise their interactions though especially for the first few months. We have no history of her having had young friends.Maddy was not interested in toys with us but her previous family said she liked squeaky toys. Encourage that happy busy silly side of her with a nice basket full of varied toys and don t forget to get her involved in interactive toy play with you. She liked being introduced to other dogs but was a little rude to a very mellow small female dog at first. Larger dogs are too much for them to live with though she was interested in at least brief meetings with all the dogs she saw.Maddy is a great little dog to hang out with. She could use more leash training she just goes this way and that without direction from her handler. She is very eager to please and treat motivated so should do well in Small Dog Classes. The ability to learn from you (and teach you some things too) will be a very pleasant surprise for her. Mental stimulation will be an incredible enrichment to there life while bringing her closer to you. And she will really shine in Scenting Classes.
