Introducing Carmen What a great combination of a Great Dane Hound mix Carmen is about 70 lbs and is finally at her ideal weight Her coat has also improved tremendously in foster care and is now so soft shiny and full of color. She was probably born in 2011 and she is fully crate trained She absolutely loves children and has lived with other smaller dogs however she appreciates her personal space and can become upset if a larger dog invades that bubble. Because of this we think Carmen would do best in an only dog household. Just so she is where she can be the most relaxed and happy pup she can be We imagine Carmen would do just fine with cats since they are usually so aloof and also appreciate their personal space but Carmen does not currently live with a feline friend. Carmen likes to run outside chase toys and play keep away She is a very confident pup and loves new people immediately after meeting them. Carmen has a pretty laid back demeanor. Exploring in her backyard and going on half mile hikes are her regular forms of exercise and she would probably make a good running partner if that s what you re looking for Attention is something that Carmen is certainly a fan of and she can be a tad bit needy sometimes. She loves pets and butt scratches and if ignored enough she ll eventually lie down on the dog bed by herself. Carmen s nearly got the hang of housebreaking. She gets the run of the house during the day but sometimes leaves a mess for Foster Mom on her return. It s important that Carmen is let out frequently to remind her where she is supposed to go. She is always such a happy dog and never stops wagging her tail. In fact she just got over a good case of happy tail. It s a real thing- dogs that wag their tail so hard that it s constantly banging against doors walls fences etc until it bleeds. It took a while to heal (how do you tell a dog to stop being happy ) but she is much better now Carmen is a wonderful dog and will make such a big happy addition to any family If you re looking for a big heart with big love Carmen is your gal We require a home visit for all of our adoptions.
