Luke - Male Labrador Retriever Mix

Hi my name is Luke and I am a 2 year old Lab mix. Mix with something I don t know. I am not very big. I weigh about 50 lbs. I m living in a foster home that has a bunch of dogs some are bigger than me and some are smaller than me. I get along with all of them. When my foster Mom walks me and a new foster dog she uses me as the Teacher because I walk so well on my leash. I know my HEAL command very well. The reason why is because IAR took me to a place that taught me training. My last owner had to return me because they didn t spend any time with me on my training and I was very stubborn. But now that my Coach my Trainer worked with me I am not stubborn anymore. I do have this weird thing I do. I groan growl. It sounds like I am being mean but my Coach explained that s part of my genetics. I do that when I get excited too. She taught my foster Mom and my foster Mom can teach you too what I need to have happen. My foster Mom just redirects me. My Coach says it is like a teenager talking back. When I talk back to my foster Mom she gives me an enough or stop and then I get redirected. Before my old family would just put me away in a room and I didn t know what I was doing wrong. So I didn t get socialized with people or other dogs. At training I had to be socialized in doggie daycare and here in my foster home there s other dogs it s like mini doggie daycare. I know a lot of commands SIT STAY DOWN and HEAL. I take my treats really well and if you toss them to me I can catch them. I am not food aggressive and I am house trained. I don t need a crate during the day. I like to spend the day sitting on a chair so that I can look out the window. I love going for car rides and I sit very well in the car. I know when my foster Mom takes me to our events because that means we are going for a car ride. This is when I get to meet lots of people. I am good with meeting people but sometimes when I meet men especially if they have a beard or wearing a baseball hat I will be vocal with them. But if you rub my head or my chin by going slowly I really like that. My next home my forever home will need to keep up with my lessons so that I don t become that unruly teenager again but my foster Mom sees me as a good boy and just needs a good home so can you come meet me Thanks LukeLuke is located in his foster home in Bolingbrook.
