Dax and her brother Cary were found as stray kittens with their mom cat in north Sonoma County. Dax is shy though not as shy as her brother. These two are quite bonded so we would like them to go home together. They will give each other comfort as you begin to introduce them to the family and to life as treasured house cats.Shy kittens will do best in a quiet home with an experienced guardian who understands that patience and plenty of TLC will be needed to help a scaredy kitten become comfortable in new surroundings. Begin by giving Dax and Cary a small private room outfitted with everything they will need for the first few weeks. Make sure they have a hiding box or a bed with high sides so that they can snuggle together and feel safe and secure. Spend lots of time with them enticing Dax and Cary to play with a wand toy or two and talking quietly while you snuggle and cuddle with each other. When the time comes to allow brief explorations beyond the safety of this private space carefully supervise their coming out party. Before they reach four months of age quietly introduce Dax and Cary to visitors in your home so that they become accustomed to other people as well as to you. This is very important since the world is unpredictable and they will need to feel safe with a variety of people during their lifetimes including veterinarians.
