Sam - Male Domestic Shorthair

This very handsome and sweet boy is Sam. He is a loving kitty who found himself at the vet s office facing euthanasia because his elderly owner had to go into a care facility and no one wanted to take in a senior cat. Sam is the sweetest gentlest cat and he deserves to find a wonderful retirement home. He was his owner s best friend for 15 years and he loved her unconditionally. Since he s lost his home he deserves a new family to give him all of the love that he is now missing.Sam is declawed so he must be an indoor-only cat. He lived as an only pet in his previous home so it has taken him a while to get used to the other cats at VPAS but he does seem to ignore them for the most part. He s actually getting a little curious of them after some time. He is a laid back guy so wouldn t be comfortable in a home with children or a hyper dog but he could do OK with teenagers and or a quiet cat-savy dog that is respectful of his space. Since Sam is an older cat he does have the beginnings of kidney insufficiency dental disease and a heart murmur. He is not on any medications and doesn t require any special care at this time. Older cats are more prone to medical conditions so whomever adopts Sam should be financially comfortable enough to provide veterinary care as it becomes necessary.
