There is nothing but love and play in her heart. Here is a bit more about her People Sushi LOVES all people. She always is in the same room as either myself or her foster dad and sits patiently awaiting a pet. She is not skitterish at all (consistent with the pitty breed) and greets everyone enthusiastically. Sushi is convinced that she is a lap dog and if you let her will rest either her head or entire body on you. She does listen if you tell her to take a seat next to you though. She also loves to play tug-of-war and with plush toys. Sushi loves kids as well. She does not nibble but has a tendency to jump. The jumping is when she first meets someone she is excited about and then she calms down. We are working on training her not to jump. She has shown absolutely zero aggression towards any humans or doggies. Doggy Friends Sushi LOVES other dogs. I have taken her to the dog park and she had the time of her life She was super friendly with all the dogs there. Sushi and her foster brother our resident beagle like to lay on the coach next to each other and keep each other company. They also like to play chase but we don t let them do that much in the house. Sushi is a high energy dog and can be a bit much for smaller dogs but it works out fine if you have a smaller dog that will stand up for itself our resident beagle tells Sushi off when it s too much. While Sushi loves other dogs she does not seem to rely on them like some dogs and I think she would do great in a home with another dog (not overly timid or intimidated by rougher play) or as the only dog in a family that gets to have semi-frequent play dates at a dog park or with doggy friends. Obedience Sushi is very eager to please and that makes her easy to train. She currently knows come sit and lay. She is intelligent and will pick up on other skills quickly.Other Animals Sushi does seem to have a high prey drive based on her reaction to the neighborhood squirrels and bunnies. We have not had her around cats but I suspect she is not cat friendly based on the high prey drive.House Decorum One of the many awesome things about Sushi is that she very RARELY BARKS. She also has not attempted to chew or destroy anything in the house. We do have a number of chew toys like an elk antler out that she does enjoy chewing on. We leave Sushi is her dog room while we are at work for the day and she has done great with that sleeps on the futon and looks out the window. We have not tried a crate so don t know how she would react to one. Energy Level Sushi is young and has a lot of energy. I am taking her on a half hour week minimum or to the dog park each day. Sushi would do best with a more active family. Potty Training Sushi understands the concept of holding it but is still having regular accidents. She is doing good with 1 so long as you take her out on a regular schedule but has had several 2 accidents (supposedly it s harder to hold). She has had no accidents ( 1 or 2) in her dog room while we leave her for the day. I take her for a morning walk so she does 2 on that walk. The issue is in the evening if you don t take her out for an evening walk to go 2 in as timely of a fashion as she needs or if she drinks an excessive amount (due to play) and you don t take her out pretty often (every 1-2 hours). Sushi is at a pretty awesome age where she is still has outgrown her puppy chewing and destructive behavior but still is very playful and has a lot of good years left. Everyone that has meet Sushi says that she is a very sweat dog. She will make a great addition to someone s family.
