Sumo came into TGF in August 2013 transferred from Denver Animal Shelter along with Lilly Lesser sulphur crested cockatoo. Both birds had been found abandoned on a doorstep and no history on either bird was provided. Fortunate to have a foster home for these birds we were able to learn a lot about them quickly. One certainty - both birds had been loved at one time and their behavior shows healthy interaction and comfort with people Sumo is more vocal in English and cockatoo and sometimes you ll think that he is carrying on a whole conversation by himself. Words heard and understood are good boy atta boy something that sounds like Cloret or Collette. He might know a few naughty words but we seldom hear those. Sumo quickly goes into his singing routine and when he does it is so entertaining. One thing for sure is that Sumo loves to interact and play with his toys.
