Pretty Little Special Needs DSH Brown Tabby Female KittenKhali is a pretty 6 month old Short Hair Brown Tabby spayed female kitten. She is listed as Special Needs because she is partially blind (which is a large part of her fearfulness) and is very shy and not trusting of humans. She will need an experience cat person who is willing to give her a safe space and work with her to gain trust of humans. It will take quite some time and patience for her to adjust to a new home and new people but once she feels safe she will blossom into the wonderful companion we know she has the potential to be. She enjoys pets from people she knows with the feather end of a wand toy and has even allowed some direct pets as long they move slowly and carefully. She is also playful and will need a home where she will be played with on a regular basis (which is another way to gain her trust). She s even done well with treat motivation eating some baby food (without onions or garlic) from a spoon being held by one of our volunteers that has been working with her. She does great with the docile cats in the room and seems to enjoy calm feline companionship. We don t know about dogs but perhaps a calm cat-friendly dog that won t bother her might be O.K. If you have children in your home she cannot be with young loud or over-active children but might be O.K. with older calm cat-friendly and cat-experienced children who are able to recognize that she isn t a kitten you can just approach pet or pick up and would be very gentle and patient with her and understand her shyness and fear.
