Certified Sterile Processing Technician

The CST supports the activities of the Surgery Department by insuring that needed supplies are appropriately cleaned and sterilized before and after use. Assist the surgical team by ensuring that appropriate instruments are available for surgical and diagnostic procedures as needed. Decontaminates and process instruments according to policy based on AORN and AAMI guidelines. The CST also maintains supplies and equipment in such a manner as to maintain them in good working order at all times and is responsible for all testing and monitoring of sterilizers in the department.
