Sally and her BFF were owner surrendered to a southern CA animal shelter to avoid animal neglect and cruelty charges. A local bird rescue group intervened after one of the many cockatoos was euthanized at the shelter for medical reasons-a cloacal prolapse. Working under a tight deadline to save the other birds the rescue group contacted bird shelters and rescues to accept as many as possible. TGF accepted Sally and Kristy sight unseen and without any funds to provide for their veterinary care housing and rehabilitation. With a little patience both girls will step up and step down. Their plumage upon arrival was grimy and oily and the birds had not been bathed in a long time.
