Rusty is a 7 year old 16lb boy with a beautiful red coat and he is sweet as the day is long. Don t let Rusty s gray face deceive you this little guy is a fiesty ball of fun by day and a sweet cuddly lap dog by night.He gets along with other dogs and kids but kitties are a no. He wants to eat everyone else s food so he needs to fed separately He loves to hunt and enjoys being outside and snuggling with his people is his favorite pastime. He doesn t mind being in a crate but behaves perfectly when left outside of his crate while you are away. He has long outgrown the chewing puppy stage. He is house trained but can have an accident if he is not kept on a schedule. A true perfect gentleman. He would enjoy a family who is somewhat active and likes to go for adventures whether it is sniffing around the neighborhood or walks in the park.This sweet guy needs a forever family who will give him a lap or two a couch and bed to call his own. Most dogs veterinary expenses are greater than our adoption fees. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group and we focus on the Atlanta North Georgia and Savannah area. Because we are all volunteers we can consider applications only within an hour of these areas. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5 or families planning to have children during the dog s lifetime.
