Goldie - Male Domestic Shorthair

Goldie is a 2-year-old F7 Savannah Cat. He is beautiful and loving - however he has some ways about him. He doesn t like to be held (though he will allow my 16 year old to hold him... no one else). He demands huge amounts of attention. But on his terms. He wants to do circles around feet and he wants you to get on the floor and rub his belly. Once he is comfortable he will latch on to your hand with all 4 paws and begin gnawing on your hand. Sounds scary but it s really quite cute. Playing with Goldie is more like playing with a dog so it is more of a rough play. We pat him on the back of his body upper thigh area he really likes that. He plays fetch with ping pong balls and if you don t feel like playing he does great playing with the balls alone. His family has a Doberman - and Goldie does not like her. The dog wants to play with Goldie but instead gets paw scratches across her albino face. Not good. It is for this reason that it s recommend that Goldie be in either in a home where there is someone that can constantly monitor the behavior between him and other animals or go to a home where he is the only pet. Goldie likes to climb on EVERYTHING - as most cats do - however being a Savannah cat Goldie can jump a good 10 - 12 feet straight up in the air. That lends to his ability to get on things he probably shouldn t be on. So if you have trouble with a cat that will knock your things over Goldie might not be the right cat for you.
