They were used from about 1972 Also believed to have used this type of helmet was the East German Special Police and the Border Police as dispatch riders helmets for the military motorcyclists. These were made in Poland and were more or less copied from the British helmets the Free Poles used during WW2. After the war they made these and exported them to East Germany for their airborne forces. The European size 55 is stamped inside along with HS 2 1 1976 .
