Mayalou - Female Wirehaired Fox TerrierHound (Unknown Type) Mix

ADOPT ME ONLINE -XX ---.- dogs 5094Mayalou started with a bit of a tough shake in life but has quickly come around with OPH s help. Mayalou was found in Southern VA alone scared and in need of medical attention. With OPH s help she has been treated for mange and has learned that people are not as scary as she originally thought. In the last few weeks she has made a complete 360 in her little life. She has learned to play walk on a leash (still working on the walking part she wants to play tug mostly) that being clean is a good thing sleeping inside safe and sound in her crate is fun and most important a family to hold her and love her is WONDERFUL thing.Mayalou is approx. 14 weeks old and ready to find her forever home and settle in for evenings of play watching TV and belly rubs. Might you be the family for her 6 7 16 UPDATE She is doing wonderful with potty training. Has not had an overnight accident in 4 days and has not had a playing in the house accident in 5 days. She has had a couple during the day accidents but we think she is getting it all down. Additionally cats may not been her thing. She has taken to barking at my cats at every chance she gets. Maybe because they are the same size as her maybe it s the terrier in her. Just barks and may be trying to get them to play with her. 6 10 16 UPDATE Doing amazing with potty training. Crate is still dry in morning and only one daytime accident. She is developing a cute personality and is such a joy to have around. We have 2 larger dogs and she loves to run and play with them. We swear she thinks she is the same size. We have also decided she just wants to play with the cats. She runs up to them sniffs them and then barks at them as if saying It s time to play . 6 16 16 UPDATE Mayalou or MayMay as we call her has the potty training down No crate accidents goes to the door and asks to go out. She would do best with a fenced in yard to run and play in or long walks to get out the puppy energy. Has not chewed on anything but puppy toys as well. Your remotes and shoes appear to be safe with this little one We welcomed an addition of another foster dog (Clarke) over the weekend and and she loves to run and play with her as well after an initial get to know you period. Still super sweet Due to her small size and young age we recommend that she goes to a home with children that are respectful of her size and age. Because she is a baby she will require an adopter who not out of the home for more than 4 hours at one time to continue her training - no exceptions He is up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and will need to be neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note that because she is so young she s has only received 2 sets of the required 3 sets puppy vaccinations. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that her immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. She MUST stay out of public places where she could be exposed to the germs of many other dogs for another six weeks after she goes home. These no puppy zones include all pet stores dog parks and for apartment dwellers areas used by other dogs These requirements are strictly for the puppy s medical safety and longevity.... More Info
