This convening will bring together an exclusive group of local state and regional education leaders key business executives and top policymakers for a lively discussion and workshop about rethinking the transition from education to career. Our conversation comes at a critical time. The return on investment of a college degree is far from equal across states and institutions and that s the reality for those students who even attempt and complete college. Only half of young people today have either a two- or four-year degree or industry certificate by the time they reach their mid-twenties. If we as a nation are to be assured that education will continue to win in a race with automation and artificial intelligence we must lay out new and better pathways through education and into the workforce. We must do this by encouraging different approaches to career readiness to reach an increasingly diverse student body....
