Daggy (Acc) - Male American Staffordshire Terrier Mix

Daggy is a two year old dog who was surrendered to our care centers by his owner due to breed restrictions where he is moving. He is described as shy and affectionate taking several minutes to warm up to strangers. Daggy has lived with three adults a cat and dog it is said he is relaxed and affectionate towards the other dog in the home. The owner reports that Daggy has daily accidents in the home as he is only walked once a day. It has also been noted that he will growl and snap if his food is touched by anyone other than his owner. During intake Daggy was relaxed and allowed all handling though he became a bit tense when scanned. During SAFER Daggy came into the assessment room a bit fearful with his body low and trembling he was social towards the assessor with a slow approach. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Daggy was fearful during the tag interaction and during the resources portion of the assessment Daggy was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Due to some concerns stated from the previous owner Daggy will growl or snap if his food bowl is touch so the behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look 2. Dog s eyes are averted. His body posture is tense and fearful his tail is low and not moving. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor s cupped hands. Sensitivity 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch his eyes are averted his tail is between his legs body tense mouth closed. Tag 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is crouching with his mouth closed. Squeeze 1 2 2. Dog quickly pulls back his paw. Toy 1 No interest. Dog-dog When off leash at the Care Center Daggy enters the pen a little nervous but eventually loosens up and greets the other dogs. He becomes persistently sexually motivated with one female and does not respond to interruptions from the handlers.... More Info
