Never mind her size she would like to sit in your lap. Or at least rest her head on your shoulder. She already knows a few commands like sit stay and don t jump (she s still working on that one ) and should be a blast to train. She is smart and food motivated. Start her out with a Family Dog I class and go from there. Obedience work is a great way to build a strong bond with a new dog. Although Abigail likes other dogs her greeting skills have room for improvement. She tends to rush right up enthusiastically. Some dogs may not like that and misinterpret her enthusiasm. She should learn a more respectful greeting style. Off leash Abigail may have a tendency to chase small dogs or cats so her new adopter should walk her on leash and carefully supervise her in off leash areas with small dogs. Abigail should be fine with sturdy kids ages 10 and up but may be too much for smaller kids. Exercise will also be important. Figure on at least two long walks per day to keep her happy and focused. Abigail is a sweet young dog who given training and good leadership should turn into a great lifelong companion.
