Wilma is looking for her forever home WILMA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME Name Wilma Breed Shih Tzu-Terrier Mix Approximate Age 3 years SEX female Approximate Weight 20 lb Has Lived With other dogs Currently Living at shelter in SC. Probably arriving to the DC area in Aug 26TH .WILMA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME Hi my name is Wilma (Please no Flintstone jokes) I am pretty excited about coming to the DC area I am looking for a very special person or family that I could rescue. My plan is to make someone s life a lot better (at least I will try really hard to) I want to be a best friend and buddy. I will give unlimited licks and tail wags when needed and happily offer up my tummy for tummy rubs My and my new person can go on long walks and explore the local scenery together. Maybe chat with neighbors and check out their doggies I know my new person will no doubt want to show me off in a doggie training class.I will help them to learn a lot and we will be the stars of the class together Evening couch cuddles are my specialty. Oh and I am an amazing listener (check out my serious yes I am listening expression ) If you need rescuing then I am your gal Please contact the coordinator listed below (Sue) and let her know that you need me Cause I m ready to come home. (don t forget to send your application to her too ) PS I will need and enjoy regular visits to the doggie salon to keep my (probably) low shedding coat looking beautiful A gal s gotta look her best Like most shelter dogs Wilma may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained. Wilma has tested positive and been treated for for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm if left untreated is life threatening but after treatment dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heart worm preventative as all dogs should. The adoption fee for this dog is 450 which includes the cost of routine vetting including vaccinations spay neuter and heartworm treatment.
