UPDATE 9 17-Skeets is flourishing in the home environment At first he was a dog that was scared of touch and was extremely shy with people. Though still somewhat hesitant he loves to follow his foster family room-to-room and be near them at all times. Wagging his little butt uncontrollably Skeets shows unbridled excitement when his humans return home from work. He receives kisses on the top of his head and rolls over for belly rubs. He loves a good pet and will often takes a step closer and closer so the petting won t stop. He has even started jumping on the couch to be closer to his humans Skeets enjoys napping in the sun and plush comfortable dog beds. He is happiest when he is outside and a fenced in yard would be best for him. He likes to roll around in the grass find a shady spot and just observe the world. Skeets walks beautifully on a leash. While he doesn t pull at all he walks at a slower pace (more like a stroll) and will stop once in a while to ensure the walk is safe to continue. Because of the bed rest his heartworm treatment required he is slowly working up longer walks. (Skeets has completed his heartworm treatment and is fully recovered ) He is now up to 2 blocks and sometimes 3 if he looks like he is up for it. Skeets does NOT like to be picked up and will run terrified. A secure harness must be used to walk him.
