Meet Casey a adorable young mama from Mountain Home ID. Casey was brought to the Meridian Valley Humane Society after she and her four pups were found by a local farmer who took care of her and her pups before trying to surrender them to a local shelter. Casey and her pups were not accepted another rescue group became involved and she and her litter were ultimately transported to us where she was placed in a foster home with her pups.Casey was a good mama she gave everything to her pups including her health. The foster parents noticed that she was deteriorating very quickly - unsteady on her feet vomiting no appetite drooling heavily and unable to potty. She was rushed to Paramount Animal Care with a 107-degree fever and a VERY low white blood cell count. She was then transferred to West Veterinarian so that she could receive the round-the-clock care she so desperately needed. The final diagnosis came back mastitis. Mastitis is a bacterial infection of the milk glands in the breasts....
