Clinical Instructor &ndash Animal Science

The Department of Animal Science is seeking applicants for two (2) 11-month non-tenure-track positions in undergraduate teaching and academic support at the rank of clinical instructor. This department is nationally known for excellence in teaching and advising activities with undergraduate academic advisement provided by the faculty. Candidates are expected to uphold this reputation as they work to further strengthen the undergraduate academic experience. Teaching responsibilities include co-teaching the Animal Science Experience course and based upon departmental need each individual will also be expected to teach at least one existing course per semester. Advising responsibilities include freshmen and sophomore students majoring in animal science and food science. The individuals will work with the faculty advising coordinator to transition students to other departmental faculty advisors for their junior and senior years. This 11-month clinical instructor position is a renewal term non-tenure track appointment. Typically an 11-month appointment period is an academic year July 1 - May 31. Hours required may include some early mornings evenings and or weekends to meet student needs. Minimum qualifications Master s in Animal Science Food Science or closely related field. Preference will be given to individuals with excellent written and oral communications skills excellent interpersonal skills evidence of teaching success with the ability to advise a passion for teaching undergraduate students and the ability to work in teams and assume leadership roles.
