Wheel Chair Lift For Millicent

My wife has Multiple Myeloma Cancer Millicent first found out about the cancer which she did not know anything about until after she fell on the ceramic kitchen floor tile breaking her thigh-bone. Throughout the whole process Millicent has been very concerned about how we are going to cover the expenses the insurance companies do not cover for some reason or another. We are struggling financially. She is not working. Work has been extremely hard to come by for me in general. I have been unemployed since August 2011 after eighteen years on the job. I am having trouble finding gainful employment because I have been out of work so long. Millicent now receives social security disability. She is at Margaret Tietz Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She is in a wheel chair not able to walk right now but by the grace of God she now has feeling coming back in her legs and hip. My wife is going to be discharge on April 8 2016. We have six steps in front of our house and we were told by the physical and occupational Therapist that we have to build a ramp or get a Lift for the wheel chair so that my wife will be able to go to and from her appointments. We have called a Ramp Company and we were told that we do not have enough room in front of our house (it has to be 40 feet or more) to build a ramp. Our yard is too small. By federal or city codes any Ramp Companies cannot build a ramp to steep over the six steps or it would be too difficult for me to push her up the ramp and she can fall out of the wheelchair. The Ramp Company suggests that we get a Lift build in our yard for the wheelchair. The Lift for the wheelchair cost between 8 000 to 12 000 dollars. I am asking for help so that we can have a Lift build for Millicent. Thank you so much for your help Update -- My wife Millicent is now in Jamaica Hospital she going be discharged from the hospital and be transfer back to Margaret Tietz Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for physical and occupational therapy. We still need help to be able to get a lift or a ramp Millicent is discharged from Margaret Tietz Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. s www.gofundme.com hv95ysvg Alvin E. Hill
