Maintenance Lead (16-02CA) - ECS Head Start

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the direction of Manager Designee the Maintenance Lead is responsible for coordinating Head Start facility maintenance and repair and will be responsible for overseeing other general maintenance tasks and completion associated with the grounds building maintenance or equipment including company vehicles. Responsible for compliance with Head Start Performance regulations and requirements of other regulatory agencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervise general maintenance workers including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Provide guidance and training to staff. Instruct and advise staff on changes in policies procedures and work standards. Maintain work standards and behavioral expectations to ensure staff morale and productivity. Oversee all requests for work repairs emergency work or maintenance. Work with maintenance staff to assign and prioritize work orders. Follow up on all work orders ensuring the completed work meets quality standards. Conduct periodic assessments of staff work to determine the effectiveness of maintenance and repair work. Complete written forms and inspections as needed by various compliance reporting and contractual requirements. Investigate complaints disturbances and violations and resolve problems following management rules and regulations. Plan schedule and coordinate general maintenance major repairs and remodeling or construction projects for commercial or residential properties. Make recommendations for budgets and financial reports. Inspect facilities for maintenance and safety problems and schedules and or perform preventative and corrective maintenance in compliance with local state and federal requirements. Maintain maintenance and repair records of work performed and the costs of the work. Coordinate work order requests for facility and vehicle maintenance and repairs with ECS Fiscal staff and inform Property and Asset Manager. Schedule building and playground inspections to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards State and Local requirements. Organize and maintain files of facility inspections Health and Safety Monitoring and playground inspections. Solicit and meet vendors for bids when required. Perform basic maintenance functions on occasion. Order parts supplies and equipment from suppliers and vendors or obtain them from storerooms. Drive work vehicle between sites and to building supply vendors. Any other tasks associated with the general maintenance of building grounds or building equipment. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE AA Degree Technical Degree or higher. May consider substitution of a trade designation for degree. Three or more years of experience in a general maintenance or facility maintenance position or similar and 1 year supervisory experience. Warehouse experience a plus. OTHER SPECIAL Ability to pass a physical examination and tuberculin skin test. Fingerprint clearance required. Verification of insurance required for personal car usage.
