Sampson is a shy guy who often relies on his little brother Vlad for reassurance but sometimes ventures out on his own if he s feeling brave. Sampson and his family members came from a hoarding situation and though they are happy and healthy now are still getting used to being picked up and handled by humans. At the moment they are more comfortable when picked up in a towel so they can hide under the folds of fabric. Being exposed can sometimes be overwhelming for these little guys but they re getting braver especially when treats are involved Rats are one of the cleverest and most interesting small pets. They tend to bond quite strongly with their guardians and are often very interactive. Rats love to climb and need a stimulating environment in order to thrive. They are often very treat motivated and can be taught tricks just like a dog (yes really ).
