Accountant

Assists the college finance director in matters pertaining to the college department other administrative units fiscal affairs. Coordinates all fiscal matters in the Nutritional Sciences department and confers with the college finance director on items pertaining to financial management. Travel may be required to attend professional development workshops and or other department functions. 8 00a.m. to 5 00 p.m. is usual work schedule. However overtime may be required during peak times and for special projects. Required qualifications Bachelor degree in accounting or financial related field and two years experience in a business related area with knowledge of non-profit accounting procedures and budget planning. Proficiency in financial accounting principles and techniques. Demonstrated analytical skills. An understanding and ability to recognize and evaluate good management practices. High level of communication skills both orally and written. Ability to listen and respond. A working knowledge of microcomputer applications with an emphasis on spreadsheet programs. Good judgement and maturity. Objectivity and integrity. Ability to understand people and their point of view. Self-motivated reaching for responsibility and new ways of attacking old problems. Prefer candidate with Five years progressive experience in a business related area with knowledge of non-profit accounting procedures and budget planning. Experience with OSU financial accounting systems and progressively responsible financial-related positions.
