One of our Major Banking clients is looking for a BI ETL developer (SQL .Net) Length Contract term is 3 months with a strong possibility of an extension Location Toronto ON Job Description The Software Engineer is responsible for designing developing and maintaining solutions to Risk Reporting Technology systems using a variety of technologies and techniques within the Value at Risk (VaR) space. The candidate will be responsible for delivering superior quality deliverables on our high visibility regulatory projects within this area. He she will also be responsible and accountable for collaborating within a team of senior developers for delivering projects operating in a strong team based environment across multiple projects. He she must demonstrate great interpersonal and technical experiences in working with business and technical teams in this fast paced environment.Responsibilities Develop reporting applications using SQL Server 2005 2008 2012 in customized ETL framework and SSRS Enterprise Reporting Participate in peer reviews of business requirements Design develop and unit test SSIS Database Report technical components Document and maintain design diagrams specifications such as technical specifications Review and contribute to the estimates for the project s schedule using established estimating models best practices and past experience Ensure code quality and traceability with proper documentation and code reviews Collaborate with business quality assurance release infrastructure and operation teams to ensure deliverables are met with standards at exceptional quality Contribute to the future state planning and design on current applications and infrastructure Interact with team leads to ensure designs are thorough consistent and meet long term design objectives Troubleshoot functional and performance issues in development and test environments Perform third level operational support when required Communicate risks and issues to the team lead in a timely manner Comply with mandated policies and procedures and contribute to procedural improvements. Ensure adherence to architectural best practices including maximizing reuse within and beyond areas of direct responsibility Ensure 100% compliance to Bank s delivery methodology and audit control requirements Represent the development team at project stakeholder meetings and obtain buy-in from management for all key project plans commitments Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and or team Job Requirements Must Haves Minimum of 6-8 years in an IT Software Engineering role with experience and success in one or more significant projects through the full project life cycle of design development delivery and maintenance. Candidates with any knowledge with VAR would be given preference over others. Thorough understanding on T-SQL and database using SQL Server 2005 2008 2012 Report and ETL development using SSIS and SSRS Strong .NET Framework 4.0 Web UI Development in C .NET Experience with continuous integration tools and languages such as JIRA MKS SVN Confluence etc. Excellent communication (written and verbal) organizational and troubleshooting skills.
