CHEP Caseworker Data Entry

Primary Purpose Provide orientation on life in Miami and local refugee services to newly arrived parolees in accordance with the terms of the Parolee Orientation Program contract. Essential Duties Conduct orientations for groups of newly-arrived parolees. Conduct interviews with newly arrived Parolees. Enter data obtained from interviews in the database. Review all client arrival documents to ensure accuracy. Provide newly arrived Parolees with written referrals for the Refugee Health Assessment Clinic and the Volag Consortium. Assist clients in obtaining Employment Authorization Documentation and Social Security Application referrals. Handles emergencies and or direct services needs such as illness food and or clothing distribution transportation to and from medical and USCIS appointments etc. Transports clients from Border Patrol Stations in Marathon Key Pembroke Pines Miami International Airport or other DHS holding facilities to the CWS IRP Miami Office. Compile and create daily statistics regarding the number of Parolees receiving orientation and referred for Employment Authorization. Perform clerical work relating to the Parolee Orientation Program. Perform other related duties as requested by the CHEP Evening Coordinator and or Cuban Haitian Administrator or his her designee. Qualifications Education Associate Degree in related field or two to four years of related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Minimum of one year s previous work experience in refugee or immigrant-related services providing familiarity with US refugee and or immigration issues and terminology. Other Skills Fluency in Spanish strong writing skills. Computer literate with proficiency in Office (Excel Word and Access) internet applications required. Valid driver s license and adhere to the CWS Driving Policy.
