Director of NursingPreferred Home Heath Care & Nursing Services Inc. is growing and is hiring a director of nursing (DON) for our Jersey City New Jersey branch. The DON is directly responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the branch initiating and maintaining compliance with all federal state and Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) regulations governing home health care agencies and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. In addition the DON participates in program development and implementation.Duties of PositionAssists with the planning coordination leading controlling and evaluating of home health services Leads the coordination and management of home health clinical services Acts as a liaison with the medical community clients and branch personnelResponsibilities of PositionDirects and supervises professional and auxiliary personnel rendering client care services Ensures that the client s plan of care is created and executed as written Ensures that an appropriate health care professional performs an assessment on a client s needs and a reassessment when there is a significant health status change in the client s condition Develops standards that ensure the delivery of safe and effective services to clients and families Plans directs and evaluates the implementation of service goals and objectives Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication Collaborates in the development and maintenance of an effective and efficient client care documentation system Participates in select committee meetings to promote compliance and efficiency Maintains confidentiality of medical records personnel records etc. within the scope of their position Performs other duties as assigned in a professional matterJob ConditionsPosition is stressful in terms of meeting deadlines On occasion may be required to bend stoop reach and move clients as well as lift and carry more than 50 pounds Travel is required The ability to utilize a PC calculator multi-line telephone and other office equipment The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writingQualificationsMust be a Registered Nurse licensed in New Jersey and have worked as an RN for at least three years A minimum of three years of home health care or equivalent experience is required Knowledge and experience in trach vent g-tube and pediatric care Ability to demonstrate self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and others maintains commitment and enthusiasm to goal achievement Ability to identify and evaluate personal strengths and weaknesses Customer service-oriented Application QuestionsDo you have a valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey Do you have pediatric experience If so for how many years and in what capacity How many years of home health care experience do you have
